Bhavesh has over 14 years’ experience in public practice, including secondments to US and UK. Bhavesh is a social impact and not-for-profit sector specialist and focuses on educational institutions, aged care providers, community housing, disability and community services, environmental groups, arts and cultural organisations, co-operatives, membership associations, industry groups and the charity sector

He brings technical accounting and auditing experience and sound commercial knowledge with a deep appreciation of the challenges faced by the social impact sector. In addition to audit and assurance engagements, Bhavesh has conducted specific financial reporting advice engagements, governance reviews, risk and control assessments and strategic engagements with public companies limited by guarantee, public ancillary funds, public sector entities and the ACNC.

As Grant Thornton’s National Head of Not-for-Profit, Bhavesh leads initiatives within the sector through driving research, producing thought leadership and facilitating sector-specific events. He has also engaged with the ACNC, ATO, CAANZ, CPA, Charity Law Association of Australia and New Zealand and AASB on sector-specific matters. Bhavesh is also part of Grant Thornton’s global Centre of Excellence on sustainability reporting, assurance and advisory. Bhavesh was previously also on the Board of the Grant Thornton Foundation for seven years and worked closely with multiple charities and social enterprises as part of driving our firm’s initiatives within the community.
